Good Morning,

Great turn out for Ethics and Core Law last week. For those who attended, thank you for bearing with us as the air conditioner was out, but it is fixed now.

This week I will be contacting Brokers and members if you do not have your NAR Requirement for Ethics training. If you have taken a class since Jan 1, 2017, send me a copy of your certificate or if you have turned it into Ohio Division of Real Estate, let me know, and I can verify on line that you have completed an ethics course. If you have not taken one you, have until December 31, 2018, to complete. NAR has an online course that you can do to satisfy this requirement at no charge, but it will only fulfill this requirement. What happens if this requirement is not met? The Board will have,to suspend you. There is no other option for this requirement. If you have any questions, give me a call.

Reservations for Membership Meeting on Oct 23 is due Oct 16!

The 3rd in the Broker Management Series will be held on November 13 beginning at 11 AM at Security National Bank. The topics will be on Harassment with Joe Makovyak, Esq, COHHIO and the 2 hr CE on Broker Compliance Audits. The speaker for this CE is Shannon Drawns with the Division of Real Estate. This Series has been a collaborative effort with Midwestern Ohio REALTORS and SBOR.

The Philanthropic Committee is looking for Christmas Trees and Wreaths to be auction off at the Gala on December 4. The proceeds will benefit the Fuller Center. Please let me know if you wish to donate. We need about 15 for this event.

The 2019 Committees are looking for a good few members to be on committees. If you didn’t sign up at the Annual Meeting, please let me know if you would like to serve on the committee. We have 3 committees. Description and Chairperson are below. This is a great way to get involved, network and helps your Board to remain significant to the membership.

PROGRAM / AWARDS COMMITTEE (Diane Ericksen and Jill Downy)

This committee is responsible for the arrangement and conduct of regular Membership Meetings, annual award program and special events at meetings such as the Christmas Party. And, to ensure the recognition of any REALTOR® who has shown excellence to the profession, education achievements, or community involvement.

LEGISLATIVE/RPAC COMMITTEE (Ryan King and Brock Bowen)

To be knowledgeable on the Board’s focal point for legislation on local, state and national levels, and of the impact, such may have on the real estate industry; to establish a working relationship with elected officials. RPAC is an important and potent legislative tool, available to assure that elected officials carefully consider REALTOR® positions on legislative matters. This committee raises funds for the local, state and national RPAC to ensure legislators are elected who will enhance the industry or to educate on issues of importance to the industry.

PHILANTHROPIC COMMITTEE (Michele Hines)

The committee is to consider and decide, with the approval of the Board of Directors, projects within the community to support by funding and/or activities. The endeavors of the Committee shall raise funding for contributions.

Have a good week!
